Spring Break and some inspiration

Good morning! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  We spent the day friday doing yard work, then pretty much laid around the rest of the weekend.

I can't believe how fast this year is going. Summer will be here before you know it.
A couple of weeks ago we took the kids to Disney.

After we met these two, our trip was pretty much complete.

It was a fun time. My kids were the perfect ages (6 and 3). Happy with the roller coasters, but also content with the tea cup ride.

After disney we spent some time at the Parker Palm Springs.

So good.
I loved it!

The design was light and fresh.
Redesigned in 2004 by Jonathan Alder, the Parker boasts the best of mid-century design mixed with modern elements.
What I loved most of all was the global bohemian atmospher the hotel portrays. I aim to  get this feel in my own bedroom. I will be redoing it as part of the One Room Challenge.
Check back for my design board thursday!

Have a great week ya'll!!

Santa Barbara on my mind

Its Friday! Yay!
We are leaving next week for Santa Barbara. I can't wait! It has been years since I have been there and Lance has never been. So we have lots to discover!

I still haven't booked a hotel room.., woops!
However, I wouldn't mind staying here!

What about you? Have you ever been? Any suggestions where we should stay?

Vegas baby.., I mean Vegas with babies

We love to travel. We live in the middle of America.., There are no great weekend get aways.

Getting out of here on a routine basis is a must for our family.

For O's first spring break- we met my parents in Vegas.

The hiking was fantastic!

I really wanted to find a souvenir but I just couldn't do it!

The Bellagio- it smelled like it looked..,
Which made me wonder- how much flower smell do they pump in there?

Ellie was not impressed

my current favorite outfit

The aquarium

Only pic I took on the strip.., Maybe because E kept asking if princess lived there(?)

Hoover dam was amazing!!

I look away for one second and this happens!
Climbing a cable..

Ellies curent fav outfit

Loving some brass detail

We were able to leave the kids one night with my parents.
Lance and I had a date.., just like old times in Vegas before kids..,
But we were home by 10.., too exhausted to stay up later!
Ha! I guess kids will do that to you!!

Mardi Gras 2013

One year ago today, it was Fat Tuesday.
Lance and I were fortunate enough to be New Orleans with good college friends to Celebrate.

But first, we had a little beach time in Florida...,

(so pretty)

I have been to New Orleans before, and it is always a good time. But, its a whole different level to be there on Mardi Gras!
The parades were ah-mazing.
The floats were fantastic!

It was not very hard to get beads, and we kept it clean!

People were everywhere!

There were some really great costumes!

New Orleans was beautiful as always!

We spent the day walking, drinking and meeting new people.

We went to so many fabulous restaurants and had the most amazing food! We took pictures of just about everything we ate, but I will spare you!

I so wanted to do some antique shopping. But this was the closest I got (looking through windows).  As EVERYTHING closes down for Mardi Gras!
(good for my husband, sad for me!)

We stayed at the Hotel Monteleone.., which I highly recommend, totally in the middle of the action!

The entire trip was perfect. The only thing I would do different would be to dress up.

(aren't my friends eyelashes fantastic?)

What about you? Have you ever gone?
I would again., in a heartbeat!
