Queen of Kilims..,

I know I have been talking a lot about Kilims, partly in anticipation of the one I should have arriving a.n.y d.a.y. n.o.w.
But, before I finish and move on, I wanted to show photo's of one Californian designer, Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors. I know she is all over the blogospher, so not really new. But, I love her work!

All images found here.

And the beautiful kitchen she debuted this week.

I love how she uses just the right amount of color in the right places!
Have a great weekend y'all!

More Kilims!

Here are a few of my favorites that are currently for sale. But honestly there are so many really good ones to chose from!!

1. | 2. | 3. | 4. |5. | 6.

And just for fun, I thought I would do a living room design using an Amber Interiors vintage kilim rug as my starting point. I could be very happy living here!

Have a fantastic day!

I will take the JuJu hat as well!

I have been stocking this Ebay store for months now. I have only seen positive feedback. They look pretty legit, so I took the leap, bid and won an antique turkish kilim.  I will let you know when I get it!!

An amazing outdoor space

I stumbled across this home tour on PopSugar this morning. The owner is Estee Stanley whom cofounded HomeMint (with Justin Timberlake). Her home is really lovely, very layered and eclectic. But, I was stopped dead in my tracks when I saw her outdoor space.

I love it! Maybe because it is currently snowing, when I look out my window.
Read the interview and see the rest of Estee Stanley's House Here.

I jumped

On the waterlogue bandwagon..,

Totally addicting. So worth the $2.99.

Ellies Room part 2

Three years ago, when we were in the planning stages of Ellie's big girl room, I purchased a book shelf from here. Honestly, I thought I would love it.
But sadly, I never have. It was quite challenging to put together.., and not made well at all.
The finish isn't white, its got a black faux antique look, which is horrible. I always thought I would get it professionally painted, but I have yet to get around to it.

Ellie doesn't have a huge room., storage is a problem. So I designed two bookcases, then had them made by a local carpenter. They were delivered today! Yay!

The back of cabinets are beadbored, so that is why it looks crazy! Next step is to decide what color to paint. White? Light gray? What about the beadbored? Should I paint it in a contrasting color? I have to make a decision because the painters will be picking it up soon!
So excited to get this project moving!
Happy Monday!

Coral And Tusk

I love finding unique and fun pieces for my house. Last fall I received this plant cover as a gift, I believe it came from Furbish.

I totally fell in love with the colorful embroidery and light canvas fabric.
It is made by a company called Coral and Tusk. I found this on the Coral and Tusk website..,

The company was founded by  RISD-trained textile designer, Stephanie, who first creates her cheeky scenes and irreverent characters as original pencil drawings before she painstakingly redraws them stitch by stitch using special computer software. Finished by hand in Coral and Tusk's Brooklyn loft, every machine-embroidered pillow, doll, napkin and artwork retains the story-telling spirit and hand-drawn allure of the original illustration. A mix of smart design, magic and mischief is at the heart of every Coral & Tusk embroidery.

They have a great selection of embroidered linens, dolls, pillows, art, patches and jewelry.

How cute would this pillow be in a little boys room?

After looking at their website, I found an arrow embroidery which would add the perfect amount of whimsy to my gallery wall.

(My frame came from here)

This is definitely a company to watch. Their quality is amazing, totally worth it!
What do you think?
